My name is Oei Yosephine Magdalena. I was born on January 15, 1994 in
Surabaya, East Java. I am 22 years old now. My parents are Oei Iwan and
Go Renny Citra. My father is a contractor and developer, while my
mother is a housewife. I am the youngest child in my family. I have a
brother named Alex as the first child and a sister named Avi as the second child. Both of
them have been married and have their own family.
My father is a quiet person.He will not talk
unless it is necessary but he is a wise man and always understands what I need
even before I tell him anything. On the contrary, my mother is really talkative
but it shows how she really cares about her children. She will go to my bedroom
and asks how well my day is going. She is a lovely person and has always been
my hero figure since I was a child. My brother is a nosy and a cheerful kind of
person. Sometimes, he just comes to me and plays with my hair or talks about
something that is not really important at all. However, he loves to tell jokes
and make everyone laughs while we are having dinner together. On the contrary,
my sister is a really ignorant person. She would rather keep things for herself
and rarely joins at dinner time. She likes to put distance from everyone that
is why I do not really get close to her, especially after she got married and
moved to Jakarta with her husband. I love my family. Even though we have not
talked to each other these days because my brother and my sister have their own
family, and then my father has been away to Singapore for business, but we always
support each other.
My second family and also my best friend is my
beloved boyfriend. His name is Christian. I met him at a bazar festival called
“Made in Public” last year. On that day, I never really thought that I could be
his girlfriend because he was so out of my league. He is so charming,
charismatic, handsome and also generous. He really is a descent person. Out of
funny circumstance and total coincidence, we became friends, and got to know
each other personalities, fears, hopes and dreams. From the first hello and
after a couple of times, then suddenly we had each other. As time goes by, I
found that he is a person who values honesty and responsibility, always
supports and understands me in every situation that has been going on in my
life and he is also open minded. He knows what I like, what I do not like and he respects
all of my decisions. I thank God everyday because I am so grateful that he
becomes a part of my life.
Besides him, I have two other best friends. Their
names are Anton and Ella. I befriended with Ella since Senior High School but
she is a year older than me. She graduated from Ciputra University last year.
We always tell stories to each other about family, other friends and of course
about guys. She is like a sister to me. She always has my back and is always
there for me when I need her or a shoulder to cry on. She likes to go on traveling
and food culinary. Sometimes we go on a vacation together and one of our favorite destinations is Bali. We really
love to spend our summer time there. Anton is also a year older than me. I
befriended him when I was in the second year of Medical School and he is still
in Hangtuah University of Health and
Medical School. He will be graduated by the end of this March. He is
diligent, kind and gentle. He always gives me a whole different perspective and
suggestions. He always supports and encourages me, especially when I was
struggling in Medical School and so confused of what I had to do back at that
day. After all, I cannot thank you enough to God who gives me such friends
like them because it is easy to make a lot of friends but only few that you can
really trust with your life, and this far, they are the people that I can trust and count
on. Obviously, we are friends for life.
