New
semester means new chapter to study another lesson and more topics to come. I
took writing class in this semester and it is a new thing for me to learn. I am
not really good at writing but I tend to learn it. The first meeting of the
class, the lecture explained the purpose of this study that writing was an
important part in learning English because you can practice how to make precise
and complex words and merge it into one sentence. Besides, by writing you can
also enrich vocabularies, perfection spelling and grammar.
After
she explained that,in the second meeting she wanted us to make a blog. Well, I
admit I am not really into blogger because it is a bit difficult and I am not
used to it. But I made one anyway and I found it interesting. My first trial to
use the blog was to write a little bit about myself. It was not so difficult
after all. Then the second time, I wrote a funny story titled “Idiom as a Joke”.
Took some time for me to think what I was about to write so I just stared at the blank
page and froze. I never thought it would be so hard to write the opening words.
But after couple of minutes, ideas came up and I just typed and typed and
finally I have done my writing.
The
third meeting, my lecture gave a comment about what I wrote. It turned out my
writing was not so bad and that I did not have any difficulties but there was
a simple mistake in my writing and it was that I forgot to hit “the space
button”. Clearly, from that I learned even a simple mistake like that was
really important in writing. Then I corrected my writing and gave comments to
my friend”s blog. Giving a comment is not easy though because I need to make
myself feel like I was in that experience too. It was fun because I could know
about my friend’s stories.
So
far in this writing class, I have learned how to order sentences into one
paragraph, how to make proper sentences with chosen words and become more
thorough and of course I want to improve my vocabularies too.
